The skin is a hormone-dependent organ. It changes according to its level of hormones. In male subjects, the hormone in question in testosterone. But production of testosterone by the organism decreases with age (-2% per year from the age of 30-40 years). This progressive deficiency is partly to blame for the ageing of masculine skin. With the collaboration of a pharmaceutical research centre with a worldwide reputation, Didier Rase looked for a natural active ingredient that would reduce the effects of a testosterone deficiency. The most sophisticated technologies were applied. More than 250,000 plant molecules, modelled in three dimensions, were tested by the technique of virtual computer screening. This research resulted in the discovery of Phyto-androzyme®, the first molecule able to reduce the effects of the substances responsible for the testosterone deficiency*: SHBG (Sex Hormone Binding Globulin), 5 alpha-reductase and aromatase*. * tests performed in vitro
