At the core of the hair follicle, there are two principle cell types, the keratinocytes that make the hair shaft and the melanocytes that provide hair colour. Over time, the melanocytes cease to function and the hair that grows appears grey or white.

If you think that the greying temples are unaesthetic, you can ask to your hairdresser to remedy it by using a paint without amoniaque.
