Shaving

Shaving irritates my skin excessively

> Back

Our dermatologist's opinion
Inflammation of the beard area is frequent. Usually, the inflammation is encouraged by shaving. On certain skin types, shaving irritates the skin that becomes red and sensitive. Sometimes shaving can even trigger folliculitis of the beard resulting in little white or red spots. If this is the case, it is important to change your razor blades often to avoid continuation of the infection with germs frequently found on the skin such as golden staphylococcus or streptococcus. A soothing after-shave is recommended, in the form of a cream or gel according to preference.
Sometimes, inflammation of the beard area depends on acne and the treatment would be the same as for facial acne.

Our advice
Use very gentle shaving products so as not to add to the aggression of shaving. You can choose foam or gel, whichever you prefer. And if you have very sensitive skin, we have developed a specially formulated shaving cream to facilitate the "slide" of the razor over the hairs. After shaving, you must systematically apply a soothing and restructuring balm that will enable the skin to reconstitute itself and calm all irritations.
